Free domain: how to pick a name for your website and pay nothing for the first year
Your domain is the first thing customers see – before they even open your website. Why your own domain matters more than it seems
A website on a free platform subdomain or emails from a @gmail.com address aren’t a crime. But to a customer who doesn’t know you yet, they signal that the project might be temporary. Your own domain flips that signal: your website, email and invoices all carry one name – yours.
There’s a practical side too. The domain belongs to you, not your hosting provider, so you can move it together with your website if you ever need to. And a good name is worth securing early – what you came up with today, someone else could register tomorrow.
Which extension to choose
The extension (the part after the dot) tells people who the website is for. During the offer you can choose from six for free:

If the name matters for your brand, consider registering several extensions – for example .eu and .com – and redirecting one to the other. That way nobody else can use your name.
Five signs of a good domain name
- Short. Fewer letters mean it’s easier to remember and harder to mistype. A good limit is 15 characters.
- Easy to say out loud. Try reading the address over the phone – if you have to spell it out, it’s too complicated.
- No hyphens or numbers. They’re hard to say, and people may write numbers as words.
- Plain letters only. Accented letters (é, ü, ą) are often dropped when typing, and not every system handles them the same way in email.
- Truly yours. Before registering, check the name isn’t someone else’s trademark and that the matching social media handles are free.

E-COMMERCE is usually enough for one online store or a few smaller projects. PLUS makes sense if you build websites for clients, run many projects or have heavy traffic.

Which domains are free?
The offer covers .eu, .com, .lt, .lv, .ee and .pl domains. Other extensions, such as .shop, are not included.
What happens after the first year?
The domain renews at the regular price. When ordering, you can choose a 2-year registration straight away and pay only for the second year.
I already have a domain. Can I use the offer?
The offer applies to registering a new domain. You can still use your existing domain with your new hosting – we’ll send instructions on how to point it after you order.
Does the offer apply to the WEBSITE plan or monthly billing?
No. The free domain is only included with the E-COMMERCE or PLUS plan ordered for 12, 24 or 36 months.
