How to Upload a Minecraft World to a Server

How to upload Minecraft World to Server

A Minecraft world is the main component of the game where all player creations are saved - buildings, inventory, map structure, and more. When you create a Minecraft server, a new world is generated. If you already have an existing Minecraft world (for example, one from singleplayer mode or a downloaded map from the internet), this tutorial will show you how to upload that world to a Minecraft server.

FTP Access to the Server

To upload a world, you first need to access the Minecraft server files using the FTP protocol.
You can find the FTP login details in your service’s control panel under the “FTP/MYSQL/RCON” section. Detailed steps on how to connect to your server using WinSCP or FileZilla can be found in the tutorial “How to use WinSCP or FileZilla?” (link).

Uploading a World to the Server

1. Turn off the server before starting the world upload process.
2. After connecting via FTP, locate the folder named “pasauliai” in the main directory. This folder contains all the Minecraft server maps.

3. Open the “pasauliai” folder, where you will see three maps:
World – the main Minecraft map
World_nether – the Nether world
World_the_end – The End world

4. The server has generated the main map named “world.” If you want to upload your main map, delete this folder first.
5. Prepare the world you want to upload. Because the server loads worlds with specific names, the folder must be named “world” (or “world_nether,” “world_the_end”). Rename your local map folder to “world.”
6. Upload the map folder from your computer to the server’s “pasauliai” folder - simply drag and drop the folder from your desktop (or any other location) into your FTP program.
7. Finally, switch the server on in the Redfox Cloud control panel. If everything is done correctly, you should appear in your uploaded world when you join the game.

In summary, to upload a Minecraft world, rename its folder to “world” and upload it to the server via an FTP program. If you encounter any issues, reach out to us via live support or by email at: [email protected].
